Two Modules, Different Speed
Jul 8, 2011, 9:45 PM
If I have a PC2700 Module and a PC3200 module (yes I know old memory). The PC2700 module is only 256MB (was paired with another one previously) and the PC3200 module is 1GB.
Am I better off just taking out the PC2700 module and running just the 1GB since it'll clock the other one down to 333mhz? I knowThe additional capacity isn't that great.
Which will give me better performance overall?

Yes! Just have the 1 GB memory.

IF it's running then MORE RAM is better, there's effectively zero difference in those two frequencies.

If you ask me, I'd say that the additional RAM will be worth it more than the frequency difference. I'd say that if they both work together, go ahead and use them
