HI im trying to build my first gaming pc here it is so far

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Quad Core CPU

Motherboard: ASUS Crosshair IV Formula Motherboard

Memory : Corsair XMS3 4GB Dual Channel DDR3 RAM

Video : Crossfire 5850s or single 5870

Case : Cooler Master RC-942-KKN1 HAF X ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Power Supply: Ultra X4 850-Watt Modular Power Supply

Now should i go with the crossfire 5850s or 5870 single ? I read that the 5850s have equal power when compared to a single 5870 i could be wrong.

need opinions please and thanks :wahoo:

Downgrade x4 965 to 955 for more savings.

Assuming that you game at 1920 x 1080, since your motherboard can do crossfire, get that 5850 now which should be pretty decent at that resolution. Supply demand and new models will drive prices down in the near future and you can purchase another 5850 for more firepower.

$855?

Obviously HD 5870 > HD 5850 and single GPU configs for me makes the most sense with the rate tech moves anyway
