Every laptop I have ever had, has had a slot in the base to upgrade the RAM.
However I have a V30 from Samsung, The crucial memory checker says I can
upgrade and it has 2 x 256MB slots one occupied, however I cannot find the
RAM slots anywhere. Surly you don't have to remove the base?
If so How? any instructions.

If it's not a door under the base, maybe it's hidden under the keyboard.
Try to find screws that unlock the keyboard (maybe there's none)
-considering my Samsung X10, there's two screws under the base- then gently
try to unlock little plastic clips around the keyboard step by step...
Hope this helps.

Thanks, maybe the X10 is similar to the V30, will have to have a look when I
go into work tomorrow. I had a feeling it would be under the keyboard, but
there are no guides on the net for gaining access to the V30.

The X10 has a little trap under the body for each "user removable part" of
the machine: WiFi card (mini-PCI), RAM modules and HDD.
I'm sorry that my bad english made you misunderstand.
For the under the keyboard RAM access, I just remember Apple's iBook way.
maybe other manufacturer use to do the same.
