My p4 cannot detect my sata hd in the bios setting,what to do best? tnx

I connected right & properly both the data & supply connector of my sata hd thru my p4 mainboard. Yet,when I go to bios set-up, the sata hd w-is not detecting.What should I do? thanks.

Try a new sata cable. Check that the power connector to the drive actually has voltage getting to it, or try a different power connector & cable if there is one spare.
