I have three internal hard drives (C, G, H-for purposes of the message). On C I have had installed Windows 7 Pro 64. From C I can see all drives through explorer and have no problem booting into it. Just installed Windows 8 Pro 64 bit on G drive, which is a Seagate 3TB 3.5 inch 7200RPM 64MB Cache SATA3. I had no problems previously with files and backups installed on this drive which was installed in August 2012.
Whilst Windows 8 Pro installed perfectly satisfactorily from the disk on to G, in explorer I can only see drive C (the one with Windows 7 on it), but not H (which has no operating system on it but which can be seen and used for storage from C). When I restart after installation of Windows 8, and try to boot back into it, I receive an error message suggesting recent hardware change or damaged or invalid signature. I have not tried to use the installation disk for repair yet because when I did this some years ago with a Windows 7 setup, instead of repairing the drive requested, the operating system was wiped from the usual system disk. When I went into the bios I find that the G drive is not listed. I do not know whether it was listed immediately before installing Windows 8 because I had no reason to check this. Back on the C drive I tried using Easy BCD 2.2 and Paragon Hard Disk 12 to fix the boot files, but despite the messages in both applications that this had been done, the Bios (probably obviously) shows no change, and I can still not access the Windows 8 through bootup.
I would also note that the Windows 8 works perfectly adequately on a drive C based VMware virtual machine.
I would appreciate any help to revolve this matter. Thanks.
