My linksys PCI card will not detect my wireless network unless the router broadcasts the SSID. My laptop detects the network fine when the SSID is not being broadcast. What conflict should I look for? I've uninstalled and reinstalled the PCI card several times. I have the correct SSID set up in the connections for it to search.

Router- Linksys WRT54G
PCI Card Linksys WMP54G v4
Win XP Prof
P4 2.8 HT

Please help. I'd rather not broadcast my SSID all the time.

I really don't know what could be causing that but if you want to be more secure just use mac address filtering on the wireless so only your computer's can connect. Or have the ssid broadcast less freqently.
