I have a Q6600, 750I FTW MB, 4GB 800-1066 Mhz RAM, and a 8800GTS I'm selling to a friend for $700 a couple days after Labor Day.

First i want to know if this is an ok deal.

Then I want to build a Computer for 500-650 AMD because I can get more for less from them. Then ATI Graphics that can Play Crysis all the way up W/O AA 4x. I need everything from A Hard Drive to a Motherboard.

I know that I can get a 6 core AMD processor for ~200 or so, But I want to know what is black edition is that a CPU thats multiplier is unlocked? And I know that you can unlock the Cores on some of the Phenoms x2 and make them x4 cored and I want to know if i can get a X4 and make it a 6 core Processor.

Also if you think a I5 would be better I would not mind an Intel as they always seem to be faster, Depending on what it is going to be used for.

I want Hardware that has a lifetime warranty, Like the EVGA parts in the computer I'm selling. So I want to know what brand may offer this.

Thanks for any help.

IMO you should save your money. If your Q6600 is past 3.0 or so it's able to deliver in current games still (that is, 60FPS) when paired with a high-end graphics card. An X6 offers minimal performance boosts over your current CPU.

IMO grab a newer GPU and you'll be much happier, while your quad should be fine, your GPU is not.

I was selling it for $700 and all I need are the things above for a tad better specs. So really I'm only losing $50 or so dollars so Actually I'm saving money. Plus when 6 cores are used in games then I'll be ahead of the game.

Any of those over the 465.

But then by definition your friend has to be losing out if he could be getting these same components for the cost of your Q6600 build.

IMO an AMD mobo would be better than an Nvidia setup, of course it does preclude the option of SLI later. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submi...|13-157-198^13-157-198-TS%2C13-157-200^13-157-200-TS

You should probably look into an aftermarket cooler then. Unless you can get that X6 up to 3.2 or so it'll end up worse than your quad in games.

Well the case I have on the computer is $160. And the new one is 60 or close to it.

And the MOBO has a Lifetime warranty and he has a 260GTX already.
