[Solved] ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD5870 vs. nVidia GeForce GTX 285M?

Forum Graphics & Displays : Graphics Cards [Solved] ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD5870 vs. nVidia GeForce GTX 285M?

I'm having a hard time deciding which one to get, the HD5870 apparently runs cooler than a GTX 280m that I saw on another post, but I'm not sure about the 285m?

They have very similar benchmarks - on crisis they were off about 5-10 fps, ATI being higher.

HD5870 is more future proof and even with the support of dx 11 it is an advantage over the gtx 280m and don't forget the new ati catalyst 10.6 has even increased the performance of almost all the ati cards ....so hd 5870 is the best deal my friend....

The 285m is based on the G92b chip just like a GTS 250. The "5870m" is based on the same chip as the desktop 5770. So, it's like comparing a downclocked GTS 250 to a downclocked 5770. Also, the 5870M has DX11
