I have an older Western Digital external hard drive and it doesn't not sem to be working. I will power up, blue light will "flutter" and then go off. I put my ear to the hard drive and I can still hear it whirl. It operates on a Firewire cable instead of a USB. Is there a way I can fix it or at least access the photos? My second son's photos are on there and they were not backed up. I was going to back it upto a newer HD and this is how I stumbld on the problem.
I have also checked disc management and it doesn't show uo there. I even used an old machine that runs the drives on XP ad still no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
