2tb hdd for laptop

Hello all!
I am searching for a 2tb 2.5" hdd tht will fit in a laptop. My model is a p370em, currently running with an msata ssd. I have no idea what kind of hard disks can fit in a laptop since I never owned one before! The only one I've found is a this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236187 and I'm not even sure it's compatible/can fit in my laptop! Can someone help me better understand what can fit/is compatible with my laptop?

  1. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236348 this will fit in your laptop and its compatible, but are you sure that you need 2tb of space?
  2. The hard drive you linked to is an external drive. There is this

but due to the 15mm height it won't fit in most laptops (9.5mm is standard) -- it's usable only in portable external HDD like the one above. The largest capacity laptop HDD that will fit into a laptop is 1 TB.

That drive is 15mm in height, so it won't fit most laptops.
  4. Thanks for the replies.
So, would I be able to fit in two 1 Tb drives or am I stuck with one?
  5. Most laptops only have space for one hard drive.
  6. The Clevo p370em can accommodate 2 SATA HDDs. You could certainly add 2 1TB drives such as this one:

Also, if you go to this link, you can see many options that will work with this model system:

Sweet! Thanks for the links COLGeek, I didn't know it could accomodate 2 hdds.
Do you mind if I ask which brand is better? Toshiba, Samsung or Seagate? They all cost nearly the same...
  8. Seagate would give the best performance; Toshiba drives aren't known for speed. Reliability isn't too different.

Personally, I have had great luck with Samsung HDDs. However, they are all pretty good. Look for a 7200 rpm HDD for the best performance.
  10. Alright then, I think I'll choose seagate. Thanks again for the advice!
