Alienware Area 51

I just purchased a Dell Alienware Area 51 desktop. It currently has 3 2gb memory modules of Tri-Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1333Mhz - 3 DIMMS. They are Samsung memory modules - PC3 10700.
I want to purchase three 4GB Tri-Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1600Mhz - 3 DIMMS. What I need to know is can I purchase any brand memory or do I have to purchase Dells memory, which is far too expensive.

As long as the board supports the faster memory it should work fine. Check on the Dell support pages for your model desktop and you'll be able to find out the spec of the motherboard in your system.

I got the Corsair Vengance 12 gb ddr3 1600 mhz and it works perfectly. Thanks all!!
