Adding a 2nd card for crossfire what drivers etc

I will be changing my Radeon 4890 tomorrow for 2 x 4870, as the driver installed seems to be for all 48XX cards can I just plug them in the install the "ATI CrossFireX™ Application Profiles" from the AMD site" and alls well? Also I read its best to use only 1 of the crossfire cables is this right and does it matter which one? Is there anything else I need to do?

unistall your current drivers
turn off pc
remove old card (4890)
install two new cards (4870) with crossfire cable (either one or both as it doesn't really make a difference)
turn on pc
install latest drivers (10.4 is stable for most people, but 10.6 are the latest)

and you are good to go!

On my 5850s, using 2 bridges caused issues. Might just be the cards but IMO you're better off using only 1. I'm not the only one to have had issues, but it might be limited to the 5xxx series or something.
