Best option??????

hi,

I'm going to buy a new pc at the end of september but i dont know what the best option is.

1 i5 760+ASUS P7H57D-V EVO
2 1055T+ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3

What option is the most future proof and is good for gaming, word&excel, watching movies, making websites,...

More about best option
  1. right now socket am3 is more future proof as it will support the new bulldozer cpus coming out, and lga 1156 is dead in meaning they wont be making any more cpus for that socket so you wont have a very good upgrade path, so i would go amd on this 1 but i would also look into the phenomII x4 965 BE cpu that is also an option so its between the 1055T and the 965, the 965 is better for gaming and the 1055T is better for multitasking, so its your choice

Wont games make use of 6 cores in the future?
The 965BE is a good cpu for games now but in the future the 1055t could be a good cpu for games?
I dont know much about that stuff so i hope you can help!
  3. games are just starting to utilize 4 cores now, and when they start utilizing six cores the 1055T would be rubbish, and you could just upgrade your cpu as your mobo is socket am3 am3 you could go for a bulldozer cpu or o on

    Thx for the help :)
  5. +1 for getting the 965 BE over the 1055. You don't even need to get the 965, the 955 overclocks exactly the same and is a few dollars cheaper. And like gordon said 1156 has no upgrade path in terms of CPU's
  6. IMO drop to a 955 and save the money for bulldozer drop/new platform later.
  7. yes i was going to say go for the 955 if you are overclocking
