I've got a problem thats probably been answered a l00 times already but can't seem to find the answer. Alot of my games in XP are having problems with choppy video scenes and stuttering or skipping sound, I think I know what the problem is. In Win 98 to improve video performance you just cut back the read ahead but I can't seem to find that option in XP. I've got all the latest drivers and have tried to slow down hardware acceleration already nothing has helped so far. Is read ahead available in XP or is there a solution equivelant to it? Or is it something else maybe?

I'm having the EXACT same problem. I haven't been able to figure out what is causing it. If you've figured out how to fix this, please let me know!! It's driving me nuts!

I posted for Metalcord, suggesting lowering the color display to 16bit. I'm not really sure what else, though.
