how can i check the number of computers using my wifi other than checking through network and sharing centre (view computers and devices)and is there any way that people can hide their pc's from being checked through it. If there is any such way than how can i catch it. Thank you.

You could look at the router log and/or its active sessions/connected devices list.

One way to filter out intruders is to set Access List (admit/deny by MAC ID) but the best solution is to apply wireless security probably WPA TKIP PSK.

You need to refer to the router manual -- download from maker's site.

Don't know about how people can hide the PCs from appearing [Although I've heard of people spoofing their MACs], go to your wireless router's configuration and check the log for the connected clients.
