Can someone tell me the best/cheapest deal of the day on a DVD/RW Drive? I have exactly $24 to spend. I see alot for under that price. What is the best deal. Im ready to buy right now. remember, $24 after shipping. I very much appreciate the help. This is the last component on my very first build..

Phnom 2 x4 965
ASRock Xtreme 770 mobo
2 X 2gb Kingston Xtreme DDR3 1600
Fatal1ty 550W PSU
Antec 600 Case

Thanks again!

  1. yeah i looked at that one. One of the reviews said that they arent even part of Sony at all. I was a little scared of that one. Have you used it?
  2. Yes... I've used the drive in a few builds I've done for others without issues. My personal drive I use is the SAMSUNG Black 22X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 16X DVD+R DL 22X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA DVD Burner LightScribe Support - OEM, which I have no issues with.

Personally I like the SAMSUNG model better -- has the Dual layer support and Lightscribe and DVD-RAM support as well and I've also had problems in the past with some SONY brands not wanting to read some disks due to DRM issues with the SONY firmware. (their DVD drives will sometimes refuse to play burned DVDs that work fine on other drives)
