Crossfire with 4870s

Hey guys, within a week I'll finally have two 4870s in Crossfire. Its taken a while because I needed a new PSU and I had to RMA one of the cards. Problem is that when I got them, they were both 512mb because at 1440x900, I can get away with the smaller frame buffer. However, the card I RMA'ed is getting upgraded to a 1gb model. I know they will work together and the 1gb card will only use 512mb, but will it still perform as well as two 512mb cards would, or a little less?

Don't worry about that, they'll perform exactly the same as two 512 card...
