Would like feedback...home built system, for gaming

I'm hoping to build a nice system, not tooooo expensive, but its been a few years since I've updated myself on the progression of hardware... on newegg, under public wishlists title of "gautja" is the system I'm looking at. As far as I can tell, it's all compatible, and everything has got pretty good reviews. Should I get a higher grade cpu fan than what it would come with if I'm planning on OC? or should that case's cooling suffice? any other suggestions?

More about would feedback home built system gaming
  1. A few things u should know about SATA/USB 3.0 tech and mobos as shown by our very own forums here
USB 3.0, SATA 6Gb/s, Motherboards, And Overcoming Bottlenecks
Also note that LGA 1156 shall be usurped by LGA 1155 as soon as end of this year/possible Q1 next year if u intending to sink a wee bit on chip + board FYI...
  2. Your build overall seems solid. I would say a few things:

Is there a reason you're going for the 5870? The GTX 470 is pretty similar in terms of performance and way WAYYYYYYYYY cheaper. Here's an EVGA one for 320 w/ a lifetime warranty.

Swap out the caviar black for the samsung f3 spinpoint. A little cheaper, and just as good if not better. Dunno if you're considering raid at all, but the caviar black is gimped in that area by WD.

I would recommend the lancool pc-k62 + xfx 750 combo for 190. The case is just as good as the 922 imo. Pros would be the toolless install and better looking interior. Cons would be bad water cooling support, and no esata port on the front. If those two aren't issues for you, then I would def go with the lancool.

The XFX750 is just as well regarded as the Corsair 750, and the semi-modular version is way cheaper.

Most people would recommend the G.SKILL ripjaw's with the 7-8-7-24 timings for 98.
