Hi, its about time i upgraded my PC, have decided to go for for i5 750, but i cant decide which graphics card to choose as there is so many, do ati or nvidea cards work best with intel, and eventually i want to go the sli/crossfire route so one compatible with that is needed.

I have a £100 for the graphics card, can anyone recommend me a good one please?

What resolution are you going to be playing on? Is the machine mostly for gaming? If so, have you considered going with an AMD processor to allow more money in your budget for a GPU?

I reckon your choice is between a GTS250 and a HD5750 as that's all there is for that kind of cash in the UK at the moment.

was going to upgrade to a 19 to 20 inch monitor as well, but not yet, 6 months down the line or so, so whatever the best resolution for playing at that size, ive only ever played at 1280*1020 so that or higher will be fine with me, main reason for the upgrade is for gaming, and can overclock the i5 nicely.

maybe stretch to 120 - 130 for the graphics card if it will make that much difference

You can find 4850s as well. Heres a £120 5770..

Good thing about P55 is you can find boards that doth both Crossfire/SLI happily out of the box.

At your resolution the cards above are fine, but if buying a bigger monitor in future, you will likely want more power.

There is a 5770 for sale at £105.74

I've never head of Peak though so can't give any opinion on how good it may be.
Otherwise you are looking at about £120 for the 5770.

If you can stretch that into a 150, the GTX460 is a nice deal.

For the extra you can get a lot more clout-Overclockers has the HD5770 for a shade under £120 and this would be a far better bet than the HD5750.

Perhaps you might restructure the build and opt for a AMD as opposed to Intel setup as suggested by Asteldian, diverting the cash saved into the GPU budget.

I know how hard it is to resist pulling the trigger when the urge to upgrade strikes, but I think your best bet is to hang fire for a little while. The reason: Right now the best card for you is probably the GTX460 1Gb, but it's out of budget. This card smokes a HD5770 annd can best the more expensive HD5850/GTX465 in some titles.
