HDMI Capture Card

Hi,
I have a small custom made desktop 4" X 12" X 15.5" which means small expension cards. I have it hooked up to my new sharp which I can display the internet. I would like to connect my Time Warner cable box to this computer and use it as a recorder. Can you do that with a "HDMI Capture Card?" If yes, do the have small ones to fit my desktop?

If you run your cable off a box (you get a guide on your TV and all that) then your SOL. The BOX will likely look at your capture card as an "unauthorized" device and jam the signal. However you could plug your box into an analog capture device like this:

But these devices are pretty expensive. I can't hook up two of my monitors to the TWC Box with the HDMI or DVI because all I get is a blue box that says "This device is not authorized..."
