Greetings,

Got a few GX 620 desktop versions (SFF) on work and boss wants to upgrade their memory....
the system specs are:

GX 620 optiplex.
Pentium D 820
4x 512 MB DDR2 pc 4200 533 mhz ram,
BTX PSU 275W

So my idiotic boss wants to upgrade the pc's to 4 GB ram, and tasked me to do that.
Now Iv found some memory but the memory sticks are 800 Mhz, I wonder if I can install them into the casing or does it have to be exactly 533 mhz of memory speed.

Been searching for days now, some ppl say it can be installed and the motherboard will scale the speed down to 533, other say its cannot be installed......now can it be installed or not?
This is driving me nuts...

Tnx

From Crucial Memory Finder:

Memory Type: DDR2 PC2-5300, DDR2 PC2-6400, DDR2 (non-ECC)
Maximum Memory: 4GB
Slots: 4
Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-5300, DDR2 PC2-6400 with a maximum of 2GB per slot.*

So you would need 667MHz DDR2 max. You will need to buy ALL new RAM anyway so that's probably your best bet, is get a bulk order of DDR2 667 1GB sticks.

If this isn't the correct model, please post back but from the provided information, it looks accurate.
