Hey guys,

So I recently replaced my motherboard after encountering some weird power issues. I won't go into the problem, but I was able to test my memory and PSU and concluded my Mobo was the culprit.

When I first built this PC in August 2010, I had a friend help me (basically do it for me).

OLD MOBO: Gigabyte X58A-UD3R Mobo (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128423&Tpk=x58a-ud3r)

NEW MOBO: ASUS Rampage III Formula ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131666&nm_mc=TEMC-RMA-Approvel&cm_mmc=TEMC-RMA-Approvel-_-Content-_-text-_-)

CPU: i7-930 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115225&cm_re=i7_930-_-19-115-225-_-Product)

PSU: Corsair TX750v2 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139021&cm_sp=Cat_Power%20Supplies-_-YTVideo-_-YT17-139-021), HOWEVER, NOW USING A 750 WATT

Graphics Card: PNY Geforce GTX 470 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814133341&Tpk=pny+geforce+gtx+470)

RAM: Muskin Redline 6 GB-3x2 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226121&cm_re=20-226-121-_-20-226-121-_-Product)

Problem: Replaced the motherboard today, and I tried to start up. I briefly saw LED's on my heatsink light up and fan start up, but then the system shut down. Thinking I had messed something up, I went through my installation again. Tried to start up, no lights on heatsink lit up, heatsink fan did not respond. Some motherboard LEDs are working though.

Did I install my CPU incorrectly? I watched all the Arctic Silver 5/Newegg/+ other videos that detailed old thermal paste removal (I used a xylene cleaner followed by 91% isopropyl alcohol). I then applied my Arctic Silver 5 (my first time).

I'm worried I either A) didn't apply enough or B) messed up the distribution when mounting my heatsink (Xigmatek Dark Knight).
