Is HW encryption on Intel SSD 520 in USB box working?

I'm planning to buy Intel SSD 520 and put it to USB box. Intel SSD 520 series supports hardware encryption. And my question is. Will this hardware encryption working when this SSD will be attached in USB box ? Will be bios able to ask for this password ? Is this case supported in bios ? Thank you.
