:hello:
my ideas for a gaming build, my first one, appreciate any suggestions or advice

mobo: Asus P7P55D-E PRO? Do I need PRO? LX is cheaper
cpu: i5 760
gpu: GeForce GTX 470 or ATI HD 5850, STILL undecided...
psu: XFX 850W Black Edition
case: Antec 900
ram: 4gb of something reputable, any suggestions?

getting a 850W psu so I can sli/crossfire maybe sometime, and it makes sense to get a good psu for longevity

really unsure about the mobo. lga1156 and lga1366 will be dead ends when i want to upgrade my cpu, so I'm going for features for price now with lga1156 since i'll switch mobo's then too. Going with intel cos of turbo boost mostly, and thuban sucks for gaming afaik. Would like usb 3.0, sata 6 seems a way off since i dont use a ssd, but not really willing to spend to go to x58 for it. Aparrently a few p55 boards can juggle usb3 and a 16x graphics card, or usb3 and 2 8x graphics cards. Is the P7P55D-E PRO one of them? Can the P7P55D-E or P7PP5D-E LX do it? Any other P55 boards?

When it comes to graphics, I hear the gtx 470 gets hotter than the hd 5850, but is it likely to affect anything in a case as well ventilated as this? If you OC a 5850 to gtx 470 levels, doesn't it get as hot? And the gtx is faster... I think I can put a fan pointed at the graphics card in the antec 900 if I need to. I really don't know either way. Also, nonreference cooling? Is it really worth it - doesn't it just heat up the rest of the case, or is that not significant?

Also, if anyone can recommend a cpu cooler, that'd be great. I heard you can point them straight up somewhere, blow air straight into the toop exhaust - is that true/recommendable?

Sorry for all the questions, much love in advance.

Mobo-> -E Pro is the one if you want to have SLI with USB3.0(it is one of those boards that takes an alternative route to give both USB3.0 and SLI(x8x8)

CASE - Take a look at the CM HAF 922/ Lian-Li K62... If buying from newegg, then you get good combos with the XFX PSU and the Lian-Li cases...

Graphics card - Why not GTX 460 if going SLI ?

PSU - IMO 750W would suffice...

RAM - GSKillz/ Corsair/ Mushkin/ Patriot/ Crucial - Just make sure they run at 1.65V or less and also go with DDR3 1333MHz and above with good timings...

CPU Cooler - CM Hyper 212+ from amazon
