All above will bottleneck by your cpu...
But, it's still okay to use any card, like GT240. It will bottleneck but not much, don't worry about that... :)

So what you are saying is even i get a 9800GT it is useless since it will also be bottlenecked by my CPU. Might as well get a 240GT cause its cheaper and still have the same result/performance, Right?

Sorry for posting two same topic, I am kinda desperate, I have been searching and studying for a few weeks now here in Toms. Need to upgrade my Radeon X1300PRO soon for SC2, but don't want to spend too much on an old PC. I am here in the Philippines, video cards are very limited, not much choices and its quite expensive.

If you don't plan to upgrade your cpu then stay with GT240, that's still a good card to play any games recently, but not with HIGH setting.
getting 9800GT is wasting your money if you don't upgrade cpu.

You're right, don't waste money on an old PC, get that GT240 and save your money for your next PC.

GT240 is MUCH faster than your old X1300 Pro. :)

Ok then, help me one more time in choosing between GT240 DDR3 or HD 5570 DDR3 ? I know you already told me to get GT240, but because 5570 is much cheaper here in the Philippines that's why i am a little confused. Thou Price difference is US $7 only.... Thanks.

Nope, GT240 is faster than HD5570.
HD5570 is a low profile card and not meant to play heavy games.

well he can sacrifise a few frames of DX 11 although there is not detectable difference between 30fps and 40fps
an average human eye cant detect frames above 30 in addition the GUY wants to save as much as he can :)

he has 17 inch monitor means his resolutions will be like 1024x786 5570 can handle any game on high at that resolution

I've check the link you gave me, based on Anandtech's review, The GT240 is indeed faster than 5570. But it didn't mention if its the DDR3 version or the GDDR5 version. So I just assume that both cards are using the DDR3 version.

Based on Toms review, the GT240 GDDR5 is definitely better than 5570 DDR3, but that's the GDDR5 version.

So, correct me if i am wrong, my conclusion would be the GT240 DDR3 is better than 5570 DDR3. Right?

Thank you very much wa1.

After reviewing several articles, topics, forums and reviews here at Toms, i found out that i don't need a 1gb video card after all, coz i am just using a 17" lcd monitor @ default of 1280x1024. So it will be practical and more economical for me to just get a 512MB video card instead, for which i previously didnt even consider. And btw, directx11 is not a critical factor for me, just want to play SC2 and CnC4 at a better quality.

Sorry i didnt mention it earlier about my 17" monitor.

Price here in the Philippines is: I didnt include 5570 anymore.

Inno 3D GT240 GDDR5 512MB - $82
Palit 9600GT DDR3 512MB - $80
Inno 3D 9600GT DDR3 512MB - $78
Sparkle 9600GT DDR3 512MB - $76

Any comment or advise?

Thank you again.
