The build im currently in the process of finishing is as follows

Proc: AMD Phenom X4 955 159.99
Mobo: Asus M4a88td-v Evo /usb3 129.99 (i have no need of the higher integrated gpu of the 890gx and will gert a better mobo when bulldozer comes out)
Ram: Corsair XMS3 Dominator GT 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 2000MHz CL8 DIMM w/DHX+ and Airflow Fan (8-8-8-24) 128.99(amazing price had to buy them)
gpu: ati 5770(already own)
hdd: velociraptor 150gb + seagate barracuda 7200.12 500gb for storage(already own both)

Im having trouble figuring out what cpu cooler will fit this build considering the height of the dominators + the fan

im hoping to fit the scythe mugen 2 rev b or the ninja 3

More about build primary advice cooler mobo
  1. hyper 212+ would be a nice choice but how well would it handle a phenom 955 running at upwards of 3.8 to an attempt at 4ghz from what i hear the 212 can run 6+ hotter than a mugen let alone a ninja 3 and when going by size consider that i will have the fan facing down not on the ram side as i have a fan on the side of the case blowing air directly at the mobo

and those are both good choices for mobos but the asus i chose specifically because of the 8+2 power phase plus im not a big fan of micro atx boards but if the power phase does not matter please advise but from what i hear it can mean a world of difference

also i should add that im putting everything inside the cm Storm sniper case which i already own.

which also leads me to ask for a recommendation on good 140mm and 120mm fans that connect through molex with have blue leds

    ^ 4GHz + ??
IMO you should take a look at these articles...,2456-17.html,2453-14.html
Not always higher clock speeds offer better performance/ value...

As for how that Gigabyte mATX mobo performs in overclocking,
Overclocking a 6-Core to 3.8GHz is good enough IMO...
    And this with a Tri-Core

CPU Cooler - No doubt the Mugen would perform better, but you do have to take into account the height issues that you have...And IMO the Hyper 212+ is a very good option for your needs...
  3. well as i said it will be running at 3.8 with an Attempt at 4ghz meaning i want to try going to 4 just for the fun of it at some point XD, but 3.8 is the intended clock for full-time

i cant seem find the dimensions for that rams height >.> i think your right in not fitting a mugen/ninja 3 in there :P thanks for the help
