Hello Fellas,

Any forseeable bottlenecking issues between the following CPU and GPU:

CPU:
AMD Phenom II x4 955 = USD $152 (Newegg)
Item #:N82E16819103727

GPU:
XFX HD 587X ZNFV Radeon HD 5870 (Cypress XT) = USD $389 (Newegg)
Item #:N82E16814150490

According to youtube videos ive watched "they" recommend spending the same amount of money on CPU as GPU, hence my question and concerns. Please advice.

Kindest Regards,

No issues. I have basically the same setup, and everything I play looks great at 1920x1200.

For a gaming build, you're much better off spending more on the GPU than on the CPU. Typically, you should look at spending 25%-33% of your budget on GPU (in other words, buy the biggest one you can), and then fill out the rest as needed.

Assuming you have a 1920x1080 (or greater monitor), the 5870 is an excellent choice.
