I am using HP Compaq desktop model dx6100m/p4-550/80hfc/512g/1

The sounddmax integrated digital audio driver I downloaded from HP's site (for Vista) worked fine with Windows 7 Beta. When I installed Windows 7 RC, build 7100, I lost sound all together! and none of the driners I tried works!!!

Personally i think that an upgrade wich was included in the RC , has a conflict with your sound card driver , and unffortunately you will have to wait for at least RC2.If you have downloaded the drivers from the official website there`s no solving for your problem ,at least for the moment. In time all brands will release Windows 7 drivers

For Windows 7 64Bit users who need to install the SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio Driver, the steps below allowed me to produce sound through my speakers:

1. Download version 5.12.01.5280
http://www.brothersoft.com/soundmax-integrated-digital-audio-download-299235.html

2. From the Device Manager, right click on the Sound driver and select, Update Driver Software

3. Click Browse my computer for driver software

4. Click Let me pick from a list of device driver on my computer

5. Click Have Disk and browse to folder, SMAXWDM\W2K_XP\ and select smwdmCH7

6. Accept the warning and proceed with installation

Hope this helps.
