XFire non-identical cards with identical gpus.

Does crossfire work with two identical gpus from two non-identical cards (cards from different manufacturers)?
For example; can you crossfire this:
XFX HD5850 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681...
with this:
Asus HD5850 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681...
PS. I know I just asked a question, but I think this one should be in it's own thread.
For example; can you crossfire this:

with this:
