Asus p8p67-pro rev 3.0 vs. 3.1?

Forum Motherboards & Memory : Motherboards Asus p8p67-pro rev 3.0 vs. 3.1?

So i was finishing up a build for my friend I decided to go with a Asus p8p67-pro rev 3.0 motherboard, but I then noticed that newegg is selling a rev 3.1 of the board now. The thing is im not sure if i should get the rev 3.0 or the 3.1, the only difference seems to be REV 3.0 – NEC USB 3.0 controllers, REV 3.1 – ASMedia USB 3.0 controllers other then that the price, specs, and hardware are all the same. What do u guys think is it worth going with the latest rev, hoping they tweaked somethings? :pt1cable:

I would think the updated version. Revised after that hard-drive degradation problem back when it first came out (Febuary).

They probably changed the USB3 controller and nothing else. I personally would want the newer revision as the ASMedia controller is faster.

Both of the revisions listed have the updated B3 chipset that doesn't have the SATA problem.

I just picked up my P8P67 from Micro center. Had ordered a r3.1, but when I got home realized I had 3.0. After searching the web, I found this helpful post on Tom's:

as well as this link that supports the MONEY comment by jaquith:

Based on these comments, it appears that ASUS is sourcing the USB3.0 controller, inhouse because it is more economic for them to do so, rather than it being a problem with the NEC controller.

If anyone has info to the contrary, I love to hear it. Otherwise, I think that I am fine with the r3.0 motherboard and am not going to wait for Micro center to stock the r3.1.

Hi,
Can one you guys please tell me as to how many PCI-1 slots these 2 MOB's have?
Most test reviews & sellers have indicated 0 or 1 slot while on Asus's site specification rev.3.1 is stated as 3 PCI-1 slots!
