The good news is that the cost of hard drives is coming down as the effects of the Tiahland flooding are going away. If you can get a 1 TB hard drive for under $100 , then that's a good deal. There are a lot of sales and rebates that are allowing just that. Naturally you'll always get the noname and lower quality drives for less but the WD and Seagete drives are starting to show up with the 1 tb for under $100.
SSDs are also getting lower but they still have a long way to go before they get to regular hard drive prices but the 256 gb is now mostly under $200 , which is good.
