XFX radeon hd 5870

Ok been twiddling with CCC and for some reason the program wont save overclock profile. I am running the current drivers etc. I have restored to default many times and then the card drops down to 175/700 or so. Any help would be grateful.

mobo : Gigabyte 790xt
cpu : phenom II X4 965 be
ram: G.Skill ECO 4G
OS: win 7 pro

Is it something to do with CCC? What are my options?

Thats perfectly normal. It is simply a mechanism to save power when used for 2D. The clocks should return to the ones you set when you play a game.
