8800gt Overheating?

Hello, i need some advice, im wondering if my GFX card is overheating, at idle, (at desktop while nothing is running) the temp reading from GPU-Z says its at 62, that is with the default fan speed of 29%, if i bump up the fan speed using Riva tuner, taking it to 70% the card seems to be at 53%.

Also when i play low demanding games such as counter strike source, the card goes to 70 at default fan speed 29%, but at 70% fan speed it reaches roughly 64.

Is this normal?

using Q6600 processor, 405w psu, 4gb ram, 1hdd, and the 8800gt

Those temps are more than fine. If the card was in the 90's you would start worrying, but 70c for an 8800 is very nice.

8800GT tends to run HOT.
Your temps are still good, don't worry about that...

Should be fine. I had an 8800GTS 320MB for almost three years, and that thing is a miniature nuclear reactor. The default fan profile really didn't work well enough for my taste, so I used RivaTuner to create my own. Even at 100% fan speed the card still pushed 70+ C under load. I eventually swapped it out for a 9800GTX that runs much, much cooler. Never had a problem with it though.

make sure you got good case fans that throw good air and no case clutter makes a huge difference in cpu and gpu temps.
