Interchangeable motherboards

Hello, i have a asus a8n-la motherboard, that uses ddr, and a MCP61SM2MA-RS2H that uses ddr2, and is no longer used, and i was wondering if i could swap out a8n-la with the MCP61SM2MA-RS2H. both are running windows 7, and both use the same mounts but i'm not sure about the power supply.

If the board chipset is the same, and the bios file is the same, you may get lucky and not have to reinstall windows. Oem boards have a small bios file preinstalled to only work with specific brands, such as acer or dell.

Uninstall any motherboard drivers before trying out the swap. It will work mostly. Power supply won't cause any compatibility problems.

It'll be just fine, as long as your format your hardrive and re-install Windows after the swap.
