I currently own a Sapphire 5850, after reading the front page article, i'm stuck between whether to get another 5850, or selling my current one, and getting a pair of GTX 460s as my future upgrade path.

My motherboard is an ASUS P6T Deluxe V2, so both setups would be fine.

2 5850's will best 2 460's, so i'd say save yourself the hassle and get another 5850.

Agree, 2xHD5850 will destroy 2xGTX460. :)

Ah, because looking at the scaling, SLI has about 90% while crossfire only has around 60-70%.

I can tell you from experience that CF scaled better than 60-70% in almost all cases, most of the time its closer to 80%

@OP I take it if you were to send back your HD5850 you'd have to pay delivery and a restocking fee?

Hocp also just did a GTX 460 sli article against AMD gpu's. They chose only to do 2560Xxxx tests. 5850crossfire does not destroy 460sli.

I would not return a video card to do what the OP has proposed. Restocking and shipping fees for returning a working card because of change of heart ?

I wouldn't return this, its already out of local store warranty, but rather sell it 2nd hand. And I am running at a resolution of 1920x1080.

5850s are selling for ~$200 used now, so its a a great idea to sell it.
However, buying a used one for $200 is probably your best choice, as you're getting better performance for the same cash as a GTX460 SLI setup.

Read the review, the 5850s perform better than 2 GTX460s across the board, except Far Cry 2 of course.

The HD5850 also OCs great if not better than the gtx460, can go up to 850Mhz with ease, and with a little more voltage you can hit 1000Mhz.

I have my 5850 at 875/1100 atm. Sadly this is a non reference board so i'm not able to increase the voltage.

How well do overclocked 5850s hold up against overclocked 460s?

On a side note, I cannot seem to find any 2nd hand 5850s here in Canada.
