I am going to purchase a Canon A95 and would like to get a card reader to go
along with it. My PC is "Mr. Bill" free (I run Linux) so it can not depend
on any Windoze programs.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have the 20 dollar Sandisk reader that works well under Windows
but if you have USB 2.0 plug and play drivers you're all set.

Of the ones I own the one I like the best is made by Lexar:
www.lexarmedia.com it is one of the few that reads XD cards. They sell
for around $29.00 at Walmart. I don't know much about Linux but on XP
you don't have to install any drivers.

You might be better off asking in a linux newsgroup. like alt.os.linux or one of
the distro - specific ones.

I would certainly recommend paying the few dollars more to be sure you
get a USB 2.0 (or Firewire) model. Much time can be saved with the new
cameras with larger file sizes.
