I have been trying to use AsusUpdate to Update my BIOS,

The Asus manager says:

BIOS ROM Information

ROM Type: EON 25P/F80
Model : M4A78LT-M(CM1830)
Version : 0309
Date : 03/08/2011-14:27:22

BIOS Image Information

File Name : M4A78LT-M-ASUS-0802.ROM
Model : M4A78LT-M
Version : 0802
Date : 08/24/2010-17:44:48

On the bottom right corner of the ASUSUPDATE MANAGER in a lil message column highlighted in red it says

Message: The model of the BIOS image doesn't match the BIOS ROM currently present. Press [EXIT] button to exit.

What i did was download the latest BIOS file which was a zip from asus main website. I extracted it to desktop and using Asus updater I selected Update BIOS from FILE but it doesnt go through.

I am confused considering that i entered in all the right information of my motherboard and OS to get the correct downloads. So if anyone can help resolve this issue it will be highly appreciated!

Check for a boot blocker or bios protection setting in your board bios. Disable these, and windows firewalls before running your bios flash program. Also read asus directions on their website. Some bios files have to be renamed with "rom" in the file, but I'm not sure about asus. Haven't flashed any lately.

Are you using Windows 7 ?

I ask because I am on the Bios DL page. I spend alot of time over there are on the Asus forum as I have a M4A78T-E and had some issues early on. I am looking at the Bios versions and this is what I see for M4A78LT-M

0205 Release version 12/22/09
0503 1/14/10
0508 3/12/10
0601 3/30/10
0605 4/22/10
0801 7/15/10
0802 12/22/10

I do not see version 0309 listed there so Im confused.

What file system was your USB flash drive formatted with? Hopefully not NTFS.

It must be formatted as a single FAT 32/16 partition or the EZ Flash 2 BIOS ROM Utility will not recognize the .ROM file.
