What is a difference between phenom ii x4 925 and 955BE? 925 is 40-50$ cheaper. If you OC 925 to same MHz as 955 will there be any difference?
GPU will be 5850.

Only difference is clockspeed. If the 925 is overclocked to the same speed they'll be identical. Oh, the 955BE has an unlocked multiplier, too.

You are paying for the higher default clockspeed and the convenience of being able to OC by just upping the multiplier. Takes memory, bus speeds and ht speeds out of the equation. Plus you are more likely to get a higher OC out of the 955 with the right board.

It's a matter of taste. Extreme3 is a bit better but also a bit more expensive.
The biggest differencies are :
Extreme3 supprts up to 6 cores, M3A770DE only 4
Extreme3 supprts SATA600, M3A770DE only SATA300
Extreme3 supprts has Realtek ALC892 audio, M3A770DE only VIA VT1708S

However Extreme3 has only 1 PCIexpress 2.0 x 16 slot. M3A770DE has 2, running X16 and X4 mode respectively.

So it basically is a matter of which components you're going to use.

Thats ok as long as your happy with the effects on memory etc when OC ing, its a lot easier using multiplier.

Out of those boards I'd go for the Extreme3 3 but whats your budget, you may be able to get a better board. :)

Warning! Warning! Warning!

The Phenom II X4 945 Deneb 3.0GHz is $126 with Promo Code EMCZZNN26 valid till 11:59pm PT 11/24/2010

If you have an HD5850 go ahead and snag the ASRock 870 EXTREME3 AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 for $100.

With good cooling that PhII 945 without a problem should go 15x240MHz --- boosting your stock 2000MHz IMC/NB to 2400MHz.

Which should provide a nice boost to your gaming with that 3.6GHz cpu clock speed [:jaydeejohn:5]

By dropping his memory ratio one notch and increasing the speed of the system clock --- at 240MHz system clock his memory should return to stock speeds

Tell me about it :(
I Live in Denmark, and hardware prices here are typically around 20% above those at Newegg :fou:
