Switching hard drives

Have two Acer laptops my main one broke and i want to switch hard drives, but when i do it does not pass the Bios,it gives a new hardware message, what is the process to get the other machine to accept the Hard drive

Are they the same model? If not, and it's not booting, you need to re-install Windows and then your programs. What you CAN do, is get an external dive case and copy your files over to the second laptop. Not programs, but your files, desktop, favorites will work just fine.

True^. If you're trying to boot the second laptop to a working OS from another laptop that will probably only work if the two are identical. Otherwise you will need to reinstall OS.
