SATA to IDE converter issue

Hi... I'm having a small issue with my SATA to IDE Converter, it's called Baobab SATA/IDE converter. . I'm running a Gigabyte G31 motherboard. My issue is when I've connected my hard drive (Samsung HM321HI) to the controller, it picks up when the PC boot's but when I get to "Verifying Data Pool" in the BIOS. It just hangs there. Has anyone found a solution to this problem?
Also, I does work, sometimes I'm able to boot straight into Windows without any problems, the drive works 100%, I even ran benchmark on the drive and it came back with 75MBps which is it's general transfer rate, I'm just looking for a solution to the inconsistency.
