Hi I have two WD sata 500gb harddrives, they are from about 2008, they don't rattle, churn or anything else, they are healthy drives, but my storage drive seems to park itself when not used and takes 5-10 seconds to spin up when a program or game is double-clicked.
When you click on a app or game, the drive makes repeated noises of it trying to spin up, then it will after 5-10 seconds, the whole computer will not respond while the drive is spinning up.
Any suggestions would be good, i have lot's of files and games on this drive.
