Internet sound wont play but system sounds will

Using windows Vista i have a graphics card with a HDMI connection and I connected it to my HD TV via a HDMI input. The TV is now acting like another monitor. But when i open netfixs. the sound doesnt play out of the TV.

I can hear the system sounds through the TV like clicking on a link or critical error.

Obviously sound is being transmitted via the video card, into the HDMI. So that rules out a missing audio wire, etc.

You probably need to go into sound settings in Vista (or Realtek, or whatever depending on your motherboard/audio card's drivers) and take a look at how it's outputting. Often times, there's an option that allow you to select the physical output source on the sound card (or jacks on motherboard). You can also select between 2.1, 2 channel, 5.1 channel, 4 channel, 4.1 channel, etc. Make sure since you're using your TV that you select simple 2 channel stereo.
