DDR3 1866 in a 1333 MB

Hey everyone, my friend just purchased a computer with my recommendations for pieces but he changed the motherboard for a cheaper one, which coincidentally only supports 1066/1333 ddr3.

I put the whole thing together and when we post tested it, I would get no signal to the monitor, only later did I realize the difference in frequency.

So my question is, is 1866 ddr absolutely incompatible in a 1333 motherboard.

The motherboard is a P8H67-M Evo by Asus and the ram is a set of G.Skill Ripjaws.

Edit: The computer won't post, I just get no signal to the monitor.'

Thanks for your time guys!
