I have these choices for the manufacturers:

Asus:
http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/PID-MX28462(ME).aspx

EVGA:
http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/PID-MX28324(ME).aspx

Gigabyte:
http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/PID-MX28699(ME).aspx

MSI:
http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/PID-MX28464(ME).aspx

I don't really have any idea what the differences are between each one...

Thanks.

Also, NCIX has the EVGA card on sale for $479.99 and after mail in rebate, $449.99. I called Memory Express and they'll match the price.

So unless the other manufacturers offer some awesome features, I think i'll stick with the EVGA one.

can your board do SLI?

at this point in time the 480 is the least attractive option unless you have cash to burn where you can put it under water.

if you absolutely need a 480 I would not bother with anything other than EVGA.

I have an Intel dx58so board, and it can do SLI (assuming I have updated the firmware). The problem is whether SLI cards will fit or not because I have a huge CPU fan (Mugen Scythe) in my case (Antec 902). I can't really check at the moment as I don't have access to the tower right now.

Where you thinking of 460's in SLI?

Also, I have never had an SLI setup before... and if it's too much of a hassle with too many problems, I think I'll hold off on that.

yea, the 460's are much faster than a single 480, they run a lot cooler and cost less.

I noticed that the 460's only have ~800mb of memory. I like to do other stuff on my other monitor while I'm gaming as well.. like watch HD movies, shows etc.

Is that going to be a problem with the SLI config?

You can get 1gb 460s in the US, not sure about Canada yet.

that will not be a problem at all, plus you can connect 3 monitors if you wanted :

the 480 is not a bad card, it's just not as nice as dual 460's, you can do so much more and not have to deal with the heat/power-draw.
