Can i use Sata 6gb/s on Gigabite G41 combo mobo

I am using a computer with Gigabite G41 combo mobo. i want to replace my old 80Gb HDD for a 2TB WD cavileir green 6GB/s HDD. i am confused whether 6gb/s HDD is compatible with my mobo.

short answer is Yes
6GB/s drives are backwards compatible with 3GB/s controllers

there is a huge price difference between 6gb/s and 3gb/s ( 3gb/s is costlier) so should i go with 6gb/s itself? Or 3gb/s is d only choise
