according to cpu-z my current memory which is the 1gig, read dram freaquency = 333.4mhz.. and im planning to buy the kingston 2g 800mhz? i think this is what your talking about to have same speed? right? if i combine this two it will not work to the fullest right?

Ok, cpu-z reads the speed as 333.4Mhz,
then double that, your ram is running at 666.8Mhz (ddr is double data rate remember?)
so that stick is most likely 800Mhz as well,
those two together shouldn''t give you any problems,
although a 4Gb (2x2) is so cheap at the moment its a better option in my opinion

I actually had what I think was the same question, but I'll ask it anyway since the posts weren't the most explicitly worded. I have a 1GB stick of DDR2-800 RAM. I recently found out the other 3 sticks (exactly the same) are apparently burnt out. So, I could buy a 2GB single stick of DDR2-800 RAM and the two would not conflict in anyway?

It is always a risk running 2 different sticks of RAM. Motopsycho is right in that both sticks will need to run at the slower speed. However you may have to change some BIOS settings in order to make that happen.

On top of all of that you have to worry about the timings of the individual sticks of ram, which also have to run at the slowest setting of both sticks.

Even if you have all of these things accounted for you can still have various problems with 2 different sticks of ram.

I agree with Motopsycho in that you will be much better off buying a new 2x2GB set with how cheap they are right now. Plus it will save you a large headache.

its probably a 32 bit operationg system. if its 7 you can check with control panel > system and security > system > its under the Windows experience index, where it will probably say 4 gigs ram, 3 gigs usable.

going to 4 gigs doesn't really save you much trouble, you can ignore that, or when it is opourtune ... clean install windows 7 64bit. assuming thats your problem. ;)
