Hey, I'm not really too Computer start, but I'm looking into upgrading my graphics card and I currently have a NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE and I currently would like something along the lines of GeForce 8800GTX (http://cgi.ebay.com/XFX-GeForce-8800GTX-8800-GTX-768MB-DVI-PCI-E-Card-NEW-/320567978614?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Computing_Computer_Components_Graphics_Video_TV_Cards_TW&hash=item4aa3572a76)
I'm not really sure How to tell if it would be compatible with my system but what I do know is this:
Info:
* Maximum Memory Capacity: 1048576 MB
* Currently Installed Memory: 1024 MB
* Available Memory Slots: 1
* Total Memory Slots: 2
* Dual Channel Support: N.A.
* CPU Manufacturer: GenuineIntel
* CPU Family: Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 3.20GHz Model 6, Stepping 4
* CPU Speed: 3200 MHz
Motherboard Model: MS-7248R
System Model: AWRDACPI
System Manufacturer: Gateway

The GeForce 8800 GTX is a bit old, power hungry and expensive. It would be compatible, however from the look of that motherboard you'll actually need a single slot card like the HD 5670. Granted, it is a bit less powerful than the 8800 GTX, however it will fit in your case/motherboard, and seeing as you have an OEM Gateway computer, your PSU may not be strong enough to power an 8800 GTX.

One more quick question; is a RAM upgrade recommended (or even possible) if get either an HD5670 or a NVIDIA GeForce GT240 1GB I'm leaning towards the Radeon HD 5670 512MB GDDR5 PCI Express Graphics Card, though.
