Hey

Im about to upgrade to a larger monitor (27") and therefore increase res to 2560x1600.Ive read the faq on crossfire but still had a few questions.

If i bought another 5850 am i correct in saying i will need to OC the clocks to match the 5850xxx i already have?

Does anyone else have the same motherboard as me and also running crossfire? id be interested to hear results.

I am running a OCZ stealthx 750w psu which will be enough right?

I am debating whether the upgrade will be worth it or not or whether to stick to 1920x1080 for a while and then upgrade the MOBO and GPU. Im currently running a 5850xxx on an intel i5 on a gigabyte p55a-ud4 motherboard.

any advice is great! thanks

Yes, I'm pretty sure you'll need to overclock your new HD 5850 otherwise your first HD 5850 XXX will downclock to stock speeds most likely.

The OCZ StealthXStreme 750W will be powerful enough to drive two HD 5850s.

Your Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD4 should work fine, however, you will not be able to use SATA III or USB 3.0 - the board doesn't have enough bandwidth and you'll need a board like the Asus P7P55D-E Pro which has a PLX bandwidth expansion chip.

Ok great thanks guys. So if i get another 5850 i should probably get a new motherboard further down the line. Shame i wasted 150 pounds on that one! darn! I should have researched more

still like to hear from anyone who has this set up to see what they think :)
