My DVD drive disappears after the Realtek Audio driver has been unplugged. eg: I unlpug at the wall as I do not want lightning to strike my computer when there is a storm. When I switch everything back again a message comes up saying that it has detected that a jack has been unlugged, once I have clicked on all the appropriate boxes and got rid of the message my DVD Drive has vanished when prior to that it was all accounted for. What do I do as this problem is driving me mad.

Buy a surge protector !

Put media in cd when that happens, go to disk management and see if a drive letter is assigned. Assign one, if necessary.
