Share permissions override user permissions

A user can not save a file on a share. The same user can save the file from another computer onto the same share. Why can't the user save all files over to network shares?

  1. Probably because one computer is in the same workgroup/domain and the other one isn't.
  2. Are they logged on using the same user profile on the other computer when they are successfully saving the file, or are they using someone else's account at that time?
  3. Post some details - what OS is acting as the server, and clients? Are you using domains/active directory?
